As I work on my website, I have made significant progress. At first, I thought that my website was looking very well, but then I knew that it could be better. I learned that websites, especially personal/professional websites, need to reflect you as a person. It has to showcase your personality, taste, likes, and topics for which you stand for. This sudden thought led me to completely change the layout of my website. I changed the color scheme, designed page titles, and added a logo of my name that I made on Canva. This was my first time using Canva and I am really glad that I used it. It was fun, easy to learn, and incredibly easy to use. After changing the layout/design of my website, I have added my education and work experience. I plan on working on the other pages of my website by making them match the rest of it.
As for my capstone project, I have continued working on finding research for concerts and their sales. I had realized that it was hard to collect data from the public's point of view so I created a google form about concerts and their own experiences. I plan on sending it out sooner rather than later so I can get as many answers as possible. I have learned that a lot of ticket selling companies tend to combine forces in order to maximize sales and image. I found quarterly sales from LiveNation dating back to 2007. It was very interesting to see since its sales increased immensely as digital technologies developed. On top of ticket sales, I have been learning about concert promotion and social media. Social media is a key player in concert promoting before and after tickets go on sale. It grabs peoples attention to buy tickets when they first go on sale and then as the artist is on tour and videos/images are posted online from concert-goers and the official tour page, more people feel more attracted to the thought of going to the concert so they buy flat-rate tickets at the arena or buy resale. My capstone project and website have been educational and fun to create. I can't wait to continue researching and creating my website and project.
